How do you feel about Winter? Like it or not, it's a very spiritual season. Winter calls us to contemplation and deep introspection. It often gives us time to retreat to our inner centers as storms clear our calendars from events we considered "have-to's." This gentle season encourages us to slow down and just BE . . . Yet, a lot is going on beneath Winter's silent surface. Swathed in a snowy blanket of mystery, new life is preparing to spring forth. While Mother Earth is resting, bulbs and seeds are strengthening. And we? We wait . . . learning to imitate Winter's dormancy while we prepare for the growth spurts of Spring. Here at The Center we already see signs of new life. Clare Oaks, the continuing care retirement center on our grounds will be opening soon. This new neighbor will surely affect the life of The Center as its many residents discover what we have to offer. Two new Yoga classes make their debut this season as well as some new Saturday retreats. This Winter we must also learn to let go and to face the absence of someone who has been a vital part of The Center since 1999. Lori Lane, our first Yoga teacher, is beginning a new phase in her teaching talents and her beautiful Spirit, our love and gratitude go with her. Namaste ! We will miss you, Lori. |
